Rock N ‘Roll Racing music could cause Twister Streamers to have problems

Yesterday, Blizzard launched a collection of classic studio games. But the studio also gave a warning to those who want to play one of the games, Rock n ‘Roll Racing on Twitch: Turn off the music. Everything.

Announced and released yesterday, Blizzard Arcade Collection contains three classic games: Lost Vikings, Rock n ‘Roll Racing, and Blackthorne. If you plan to stream this collection, be careful when playing Rock n ‘Roll Racing because the music in this arcade racing game is not removed for streaming. As observed by PCGamesN, this PSA came through a tweet from Adam Fletcher, a community development leader at Blizzard. “If you choose to stream, do so with music turned off” Fletcher warned.

The new version of the game included in Blizzard Arcade Collection contains not only the classic midi rock covers found in the original version, but recently added full versions of the same songs. This is a great bonus, but it also means that this game contains a bunch of licensed music that could get a DMCA hit on Twitch.

However, you shouldn’t just avoid the new full versions of the songs while you’re on Twitch. Fletcher also added that, for now, the old school midi covers could also make you in trouble. Given one of the best parts of Rock n ‘Roll Racing is the classic rock soundtrack, this is not a great solution.

In November, with a little warning, Twitch has started removing videos and streams from the site which contained any licensed music or sound effects. The situation has not improved much since then.

In fact, during last night’s BlizzCon opening ceremony, recorded Metallica’s music was removed from the show as well replaced with generic sound of Twitch. This is a good system we have. Everything works perfectly …
