Everyone has an opinion on what defender Deshaun Watson should do. Looks like he doesn’t want to be with the Houston Texans after feeling disrespected by the team’s brass and not seeing eye to eye on several organizational decisions.

It was a recipe for a convincing off-season discussion, with fans from across the league wondering what their team’s offense with Watson at the helm might look like.

During Cris Collinsworth Podcast, corner Richard Sherman, who co-hosts the show, shared his opinion on what Watson should do and does not join the San Francisco 49ers.

“If I were Deshaun, I would get out of there as soon as possible. I would head to New York,” Sherman told Collinsworth and George Chahrouri. “… The planes. It would be the most beautiful (situation). A decent offensive line. They should find threats. They should find some offensive weapons. But I think there would be a lot more people excited to be there.

“I think this year’s free agency market will be oversaturated because of the salary cap, but that’s what I would do.”

The suggestion is an interesting one, given that Sherman is scheduled to become a free agent himself and has made it clear that he does not expect to return to San Francisco due to the team’s salary cap situation.

The former Sherman defensive coordinator with the 49ers, Robert Saleh, is now the head coach of the Jets, so, naturally, there has been speculation that the All-Pro defender could be linked to New York. Maybe he’s not the only 49ers agent looking at the Jets either.

“They will be able to put a team together and if [Watson is] at the helm, I immediately become a competitor not only in that division, but also in the AFC in general, “Sherman added.
