Review: Powme’s 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is a Game Changer to Work on the Go

The Powme 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is a small USB-C hub that manufacturers promise is the best wireless charger. We looked at him to see if he could live up to these claims.

Look and feel

Powme intentionally designed the 3-in-1 wireless charger to be an extremely portable device, able to fit in laptop bags, suitcases, backpacks and even most purses. And they’re right – it’s quite small compared to most other powered hubs on the market.

The Powme 3-in-1 wireless charger takes up less desktop space than most iPhones, is less than three inches, five inches long, and less than an inch thick. We like this because it means it can easily fit even in the most crowded configurations.

Our iPhone 11 is above the Powme charger and hides it completely

It also has a decent weight for its size and, although we only live with it for a short time, it feels quite well made.

However, we have only one pain: the Powme logo. Although we do not mind the appearance of the logo, it lights up when connected to power. This makes it a less ideal companion than at the nightstand, if you are the type of person who keeps his equipment by the bed – like a student at a dormitory.

Powme Ports

The biggest reason most of us use hubs like this is because our MacBooks don’t have enough ports.

The 3-in-1 wireless charger offers a few extra ports in a small, easy-to-carry package. It has a USB-A QC 3.0 port, perfect for connecting a USB mouse or keyboard or charging additional devices. A USB-A 3.1 port allows you to connect thumb drives and external hard drives and transfer data up to 10 gigabytes per second.

ports

As expected, it includes a micro SD and a standard SD slot – but we were still happy to see it included. This is perfect for those of us who occasionally shoot on cameras that write to SD cards.

And it also includes a single 60K 60Hz HDMI port, perfect for connecting to an external monitor or on-board camera projector if needed.

Overall, we were pleased with the large hub’s offering and thought it could easily gain a permanent place in your technology bag as a travel hub.

Powe power

Of course, all those ports aren’t the only ones that attract the Powme 3-in-1 wireless charger – it’s a charger, after all.

Although it wouldn’t be an ideal solution for higher-powered MacBooks – especially if they’re under load, the 30W USB-C port can keep your MacBook full. However, it will work well if you perform low-power tasks, such as editing spreadsheets or replying to emails, and will load a slow-motion or sleep machine without any problems. Whether you’re rocking a MacBook Air or an iPad, it’s a perfect partner for your tech bag.

Yes, your Apple Watch is really charging

Yes, your Apple Watch is really charging

Not only is it a convenient little hub that powers your MacBook or iPad, but it’s a wireless charger that can charge your iPhone, Apple Watch, or AirPods.

The Qi wireless charger can charge up to 10W, while the Apple Watch wireless charger reaches 5W.

Here was a game changer for us. A crowded workspace is hardly ideal, especially if you are traveling on a short-term basis or doing something as simple as moving from the office to the boardroom for the afternoon.

Because it can charge your MacBook, iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, it reduces the number of devices you’ll need to pack. You can also charge many of these devices at the same time, albeit a little slower.

We can keep iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and bluetooth keyboard charged with a single USB-C cable and Powme 3-in-1

Again, if you’re the type to pack light, we think this is a great way to get all your essential technology without having to worry about packing a ton of cables and adapters.

Overall

Although we are in no hurry to make it our main center, we want to keep it the same. Our perfect use case is its association with our mobile or iPad-centered workspace, allowing us to pack everything we need to work on the go in a small bag.

  • Charging spaces for iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch
  • Two old USB-A ports for external storage or additional charging
  • Upload Apple Watch
  • The small size makes it easy to take anywhere
  • Some ports that have larger hubs are missing
  • The 30W limit makes it less ideal for MacBook Pro users
  • The bright logo makes it unattractive for overnight use in bedrooms and hotel rooms
