PS5 recharging has dropped at Target in recent weeks – in fact, the retailer has not replenished its console stock on demand last month. But that may change in the coming days.
According to online stock tracking accounts, Target is preparing for a restocking later this week. This would be the retailer’s first restock in three weeks and would give customers still eager to get their hands on a PS5 another security blow to the latest Sony gaming machine.

The news of this latest restock came from YouTuber Jake Randall, which has become a fairly important figure in the PS5 stock tracking game. He claimed that Target delivered stocks to stores in its distribution centers this weekend and we would expect these units to go on sale at some point this week.
WE KNOW UPDATE I know that today was disappointing for the breaks, but I can confirm that Target has received stocks in their distribution centers and that they will start delivering to stores this weekend! A drop next week probably seems, and as always, I’ll keep you posted when you know! pic.twitter.com/Dspd87ZFnmApril 17, 2021
Looking at previous Target PS5 restorations, we can guess that this last drop will take place on Thursday, April 22nd. However, the retailer also replenished on Wednesday before, so the decrease could surprise us and be earlier than expected.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. The fully digital model of the PS5 is even harder to obtain than the standard version right now, with several recent releases containing only the PS5 Disc Edition.
Target hasn’t replenished the console for almost three weeks now, so we anticipate that this could be a larger stock drop than usual, as the retailer may have accumulated a significant supply.

How to Buy a PS5 at Target
First, make sure you have an account set up with your payment and address details stored. This is a vital step if you want to secure a PS5 during recovery. Getting stock in the cart is only half the battle, you don’t want the console to sell while you enter the details. Make sure everything is pre-saved so you can pay in seconds.
Target is known for releasing stock in waves, usually going first with the standard PS5 edition and then followed by a restock of the PS5 digital edition. So even if you get to the retailer and the PS5 is already sold out, it’s worth saving the extra time to see if you can catch a second wave.
Jake Randall also suggests using alternative payment methods, such as PayPal, Apple Pay or RedCard, if possible. Their advantage is that they use a separate payment portal, which bypasses their own Target servers, which in the past have collapsed under the pressure of thousands of people, who are all trying to secure that coveted order confirmation email.
Target also has an application that can be used to try to secure a PS5. A good trick is to try to checkout during recovery, both on a desktop and on a mobile device. It is recommended that if you manage to add PS5 to your cart on one, switch to the other to complete the payment. As long as you are logged in, it will keep track of the contents of your shopping cart.
Finally, upon payment, you can edit your location to select a store that has PS5 in stock if your location is sold out. Occasionally, this may prevent you from continuing the checkout process, but if you encounter this problem, please clear your browser cookies and try again.
