Resident Evil Village demo confirms 45 FPS framerate with ray tracing on PS5 and X Series

4K HDR / 60 FPS with ray tracing disabled

You caught Resident Evil Village transmit yesterday? If not, Jordan has you covered.

The bottom line is that a 60-minute demonstration is coming on May 1, and Mercenaries is back.

But shortly after the presentation, Capcom updated the game’s official website, adding a bit of a framerate reference to the different versions of the game. Ready? At a base, at the top, PS5 and X Series players watch 4K HDR at 60 FPS. Good! That’s what Capcom promised when the game was announced. Once you have activated ray tracking, it will drop to 45 FPS on the same platforms. The S Series can run 1440p HDR / 45 FPS, down to 30 FPS with ray tracing enabled.

Also, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X can run the game at 1080p / 60 FPS or 4K HDR at 30 FPS. PS4 runs at 900p / 45 FPS, and Xbox One has a speed of 900p / 30 FPS. I ran through generations back for you! Oh, and Stadians, good luck: 1080p 60 FPS or 4K 60 FPS are options.

Phew!

You can find the full chart below, as well as on the website under the heading “Output Resolution and Expected Framerate”. I hope your platform and setting of your choice live up to your expectations!

I will only be tracking the rays and sailing at 60 FPS on current consoles.
