Subsequent developments in the controversy surrounding the popular Answer all podcasts, and his recent efforts to report on institutional and systemic racism to the food magazine Enjoy your meal, today as host Alex Goldman issued a series of statements acknowledging that the show’s own problems with representation, reporting and inclusiveness forced it to cancel Kitchen Test miniseries and put Answer all herself “on break.” This comes after both Answer all Lead reporter Sruthi Pinnamaneni and co-host PJ Vogt were revealed to be leaving the series after former co-workers in the show’s home network, Gimlet Media, alleged multiple situations in which the two showed hostility to efforts to diversify company staff. In cancellation Kitchen Test, Goldman called the series “systemic editorial failure ”in his efforts to tell a story about another company, while ignoring issues about how Gimlet worked.

In the a audio statement released to Answer all feed, and on his personal Twitter account, Goldman clarified that this move was not the end of the year Answer all but noted that the recent controversy has given rise to a “calculation” of how the show manages its reporting.. He also mentioned that the last two planned episodes of Kitchen Test the series is still incomplete due to the departures of Pinnamaneni and Vogt and will not be completed, apologizing to both fans and interviewees for the story because they could not finish the series. (The previous two tranches will remain up, with a new responsibility added to each of them.)

Reports of Pinnamaneni and Vogt’s behavior were brought to light by Eric Eddings, former host of Gimlet Node podcast. On THR, both former members of Answer all staff will move to different parts of Gimlet Media.
