Page had already said he was drawn to his role because he only had a “one-season bow.” He told Variety: “I have to come in, make my contribution and then the Bridgerton family continues.”
THR also reported on Tuesday that “sources say that almost everyone close to the show knew that Page only has a one-year deal” and that Page was “laser-focused on his growing film career.”
His agents have apparently been “flooded with movie offerings” and there is even fan fervor for him to take on the role of James Bond. He is already filming a role in a future feature film “Dungeons and Dragons” and played a role in a high-budget Netflix movie made by the gurus “Avengers: Endgame”, Russo Brothers.
Perhaps it adds to Page’s obsession with Shonda Rhimes’ show and the history of the industry of former celebrities who left TV hits for greener pastures, with varying degrees of success – from David Caruso’s famous “NYPD Blue” to Dan Stevens’ departure from Downton Abbey.
