Red Dead Online Players receive a few seasonal holiday gifts in the form of a free garment and a free repeater, Rockstar Games announced this week. The creators of the online game, which are now available as a standalone title, shared a preview of what’s new and what’s to come in the next few days, with players able to take advantage of regular XP bonuses and discounts on items in addition to free items.
The two items that players receive free of charge are the weapon and coat mentioned above, which players can obtain after repurchasing an equipment coupon. Obtaining them is an easy process that can be done right now, when the last update of the game is live.
A seasonal cold runs through Red Dead Online, bringing heavy snow and a frightening blow to the holiday spirit.

“In adverse weather conditions, go to the Benefits page on the Pause menu to pick up a free set of gifts – including a coupon for a free coat to protect you from items, as well as a coupon for a free repeater,” Rockstar Games said of holiday updates and free articles.
In addition, Rockstar Games said that players can also visit the gunmen to check out some new weapon variants. One of these variants is offered as the two items mentioned above, while a rifle variant has been temporarily removed from the rank restrictions.
“The holiday is softening even the steel spirit of the local Gunsmiths, which is offering the new Winter Evans Repeater for free just to stop this week,” Rockstar Games said. “While you’re at it, we recommend that you choose the seasonal Krampus Shotgun version of the double-barreled pistol, which has temporary high locking restrictions.”
Some new horses have also come to the stables for purchase, and the Make It Count – Bow & Arrow and Last Stand modes pay triple the rewards, a common practice with Rockstar upgrades for Red Dead Online and GTA Online. Discounts on Wilderness Outfitters in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. catalog and Moonshiner items are valid until the next major update to reduce all discounts with new ones.
