MADRID – Luka Jovic will play on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt until June 30 with the intention of looking for the minutes he does not have at Real Madrid.
Both clubs formalized the loan on Wednesday morning.
“Real Madrid CF and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed to loan Luka Jović until the end of this season,” the white club confirmed in a statement.
According to ESPN, the interest of the German club comes from the summer, but Madrid then rejected the request due to lack of staff and treasury to undertake the signing of a replacement of the guarantees.
Jovic returns to the team that allowed him to make the leap to Real Madrid for 60 million euros. In the 2018/19 season, the striker scored 27 goals that served to attract the attention of Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid itself.
However, Jovic did not perform well, nor did the regularity he himself asked Zidane to show the level he showed in the Bundesliga. In fact, this year and a half, the Serb has just started in eight matches and scored only two goals, against Leganes and Osasuna.
Zidane has repeatedly defended himself against criticism for his behavior both on and off the field. The French coach even went so far as to publicly admit that he specifically asked for his signature after his great season at Eintracht, but the truth is that lately even Mariano seemed ahead of the Serb in his preferences.
In this way, Zidane gave the Serb a green light to resume his good feelings at the club he enjoyed the most, despite the fact that the whites will be left with only two specific strikers, such as Benzema and Mariano for the second round of the season.
