Rapper Silento was arrested Monday for allegedly fatally shooting his older cousin outside of Atlanta last month, authorities said.
The 23-year-old singer, “Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)”, whose real name is Richard Lamar Hawk, was charged with murder on January 21, by shooting the death of Frederick Rooks, 34 years old. , according to the DeKalb County Police Department. .
Rooks was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a residential neighborhood in Panthersville, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, citing police.
Surveillance images obtained by investigators showed several cars fleeing the scene and at least one gunshot, according to an incident report obtained by the newspaper.
One reason for the fatal shooting remains unclear.
Hawk had several recent appeals to the law that led to his arrest Monday, including two busts in a week in August last year in California, the report said.
