We’re used to seeing new tricks and secrets discovered in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, surprisingly regularly, but here’s something different.
Fan and modder Zelda Waikuteru searched the game’s files, preparing a visible, playable version of a Shrine that did not enter the final game. As Waikuteru explains in the video below, the 136 Shrines available in the base game and its DLC are listed as “Dungeon000” to “Dungeon135”, but there is also a secret “Dungeon136”.
As you can see when the Altar is loaded, it seems to be a form of basic model used for development purposes and takes the form of a Blessing Altar; Waikuteru speculates that it is probably a template that could be used to build new Shrines in the game.
Seeing an empty Shrine template available immediately in the game files, we think of the possibility of a Shrine builder in the style of Super Mario Maker, similar to the editor of the dungeon Zelda: Link’s Awakening Imagine if players could design their own Shrines and puzzles- in Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2!
No, let’s not overdo it …
