Update: And to continue, the leader of Celadon City’s Grass Gym has just been defeated. Rainbow badge received!

Another week has passed, so what happens in the social media experiment that Twitter is playing is happening Red Pokémon… inside the avatar of a talented programmer? Well, read on!

After defeating the leader of the Cerulean City Water Misty, Twitter boarded SSAnne in Vermilion City and took on her rival Blue-Old. According to reports (via Channel of discord for this social media experiment), The Twitter party was not in the best condition to fight with everyone on board and did not bother to heal before the big match. Fortunately, it was a relatively easy battle with Fearow, now known as “CHAD”, eventually giving Blue a super-effective blow to Ivysaur.

Not long after this HM01 (Cut) was purchased and just days after the great victory against Misty, Twitter managed to defeat Lt. Surge, the leader of Vermilion’s Electric Gym. Despite all the chances, Twitter managed to solve the Gym puzzle on the first try and did a quick job of the coaches on the main floor. In the fight against Lt Surge, Twitter released Geodude Rock. He eliminated Surge’s entire party and defeated his last pocket monster, Raichu, in one hit. The reward, of course, was the Thunder badge.

Since then, Twitter has gone through Diglett Cave, purchased HM05 (Flash), evolved Geodude and Oddish, made its way through Rock Tunnel, and more recently obtained HM02 (Fly) and got a free Eevee.

The current game consists of a level 27 Fearow (CHAD), a level 27 Graveler (ABBPRI), a level 30 Wartortle (AMAYBE), a level 28 Alakazam, a level 22 Gloom (curse) and a level 25 Eevee (DHY) .

So, there are three badges at the time of writing – who knows what Twitter will accomplish in the game by the end of next week. Are you as impressed as we are with the progress the internet has made so far, given that it’s played on someone’s Twitter avatar?
