Rams pushed Aaron Rodgers before landing Matthew Stafford

The Los Angeles Rams shocked the NFL world by making the first off-season blockbuster deal on Saturday – but not before trying to make an even bigger hit.

Before the Rams landed Matthew Stafford, the team ran to Aaron Rodgers, according to the Los Angeles Times. It wasn’t until the Packers informed the team that Rodgers was unavailable that they reached an agreement to land the other NFC North defender.

It has been speculated that the Packers could switch from Rodgers in the offseason after working with quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 draft. This speculation reached fever after Rodgers offered cryptic comments following the loss of the game. NFC Championship at the Buccaneers.

“There are a lot of future guys who are uncertain – including me,” Rodgers said.

However, Rodgers calmed many of these concerns after appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show.” And after the Packers rejected the Rams, it seems almost certain that Rodgers will return to Green Bay in 2021.

The Rams sent two upcoming first-round picks, a third-round pick and former Lions QB Jared Goff to Stafford. It has been reported that several other teams have been hot on the trail of LA to acquire the star defender, but Los Angeles has managed to offer two first tournaments, although Detroit is now stuck with the gigantic contract signed by Goff before the 2019 season.
