Ramón Alburquerque: “Abinader is not the only one” who would aspire to run for president

Former Senate President and member of the executive leadership of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Ramón Alburquerque has revealed that he can run for the presidency of the Republic for that organization.

Albuquerque, one of the founders of the PRM, told the TV show “La Hora 22”, which is broadcast on Teleradio América (TRA), that he is considering his candidacy for the presidency of that political entity.

In the same interview, he rejected the re-election movements of government sectors and said that President Luís Abinader “is not the only one” who has the right to run again for a presidential nomination.

Pure Theater “

Alburquerque described as a “pure theater” the public letter President Abinader sent to the presidency’s minister, José Ignacio Paliza, forbidding him from talking about the presidential re-election a few months after the current government was installed.

“And do you think that from that alleged letter to Paliza, some people who are together … a minister who doesn’t speak unless he authorizes it, but who they will leave with that theater,” the former lawmaker said.

In addition, he urged government officials to spend more time solving the country’s serious problems, rather than devoting time and resources to organizing a re-election campaign.
