Rakewon and Ghostface Killah’s VERZUZ: Here’s what happened

Raekwon and Ghostface Killah went head-to-head for a confrontation of the Wu-Tang family in VERZUZ on Saturday night (March 20). See detail round by round below

During their time together, the two recalled a trip they made together to Barbados. RZA stopped to greet at one point, as Young Dirty Bastard, the son of Wu-Tang Ol ‘Dirty Bastard’s late associate. RZA later returned to lead a toast near the end of the show. Cappadonna appeared to perform his guest verse on Raekwon’s “Ice Cream,” and Masta Killa advanced for “Glaciers of Ice.” Ghostface Killah participated in a round with Raekwon, performing “Criminology” since his solo debut in 1995 Just built 4 Cuban Linx …

After the “break”, Raekwon said he was drunk and resumed the process without waiting for Ghostface Killah to return from the break. Inspectah Deck then joined him for the Wu-Tang Clan’s “CREAM,” and Ghostface returned to the set in a white, ankle-length mink coat. In the 19th round, Raekwon started with Jodeci’s “Freek’n You (Mr. Dalvin Freek Mix),” which Ghostface concluded.

VERZUZ returned for the second season late last year, with a “Legends of the Bay” showdown between Too $ hort and E-40 in December and a twice-rescheduled battle between Ashanti and Keyshia Cole. D’Angelo rocked the format in February, with a solo appearance at the Apollo Theater, with Redman, Method man and HER with him as guests. Earlier this month, founders Timbaland and Swizz Beats announced that they had sold VERZUZ to the short-lived video application Triller, and previous VERZUZ performers had become interested in the new setup.
