Gabe JacksonStint with the Raiders is over. ESPN ‘s Adam Schefter Reports (via Twitter) that the Raiders change their linebacker to the Seahawks for a draft pick in 2021. Tom Pelissero of NFL.com tweets that the Raiders will get a pick in the fifth round.
It seemed inevitable that Jackson was leaving Vegas; I heard a few months ago that the team was planning to interrupt the offensive guard. However, we learned earlier today that the Raiders were still buying veterans and it seemed that the organization had a handful of potential business partners.
Jackson has two more years left for the five-year, $ 56 million extension he signed with the Raiders in 2017. A pick from the third round in 2014, Jackson spent all seven professional seasons with the Raiders. . He has been a full-time starter since the beginning of his year and missed more than three games once, in 2019 when he missed five.
Jackson has always been a solid starter, but not spectacular, but Jon Gruden he felt that he could no longer justify the two-digit AAV number of his contract. They bought it during this period last year, but nothing was done and all 16 games for Gruden started in 2020.
The Raiders offensive line has already recorded a bit of turnover this season. The team arrived at the trading center Rodney Hudson earlier this week, a move that appears to “scared”Raiders target Kyle Long (who ended up signing with the bosses).
The Seahawks have been on the market because an offensive line has helped this season, although they have hit a couple of targets in Kevin Zeitler and Joe Thuney. This transaction leaves Seattle with only three choices in this year’s project.
