According to a recent report, The Red Sox and the third Dominican base, Rafael Devers we have not yet discussed a possible extension of the contract so far, Agent Nelson Montes de Oca has told Alex Speier of the Boston Globe.
For now, the focus is on reaching a salary agreement for the 2021 MLB season before next Friday’s deadline for presenting the figures. The Red Sox renewed Devers for a minimum of $ 692,500 last year, even though he came out of a wonderful 2019 season.
The third 24-year-old base is now eligible for arbitration, where he is expected to receive an offer of between $ 3.4 million and $ 6.3 million.
