Queen Elizabeth II asked people for the coronavirus vaccine after receiving the jab herself.
There are several vaccines available in the UK and millions of people have already taken the offer to get the jab.
But the reigning monarch tried to quell fears that it could be dangerous, giving him personal experience of receiving the vaccine.
The 94-year-old appeared in a video call with NHS officials who are responsible for launching and delivering the vaccine.
The queen told them, “It’s a bit like a plague, isn’t it? Because not only do we have the virus, but everywhere. Once you have the vaccine, you feel protected … as far as I can tell. was pretty harmless.
“It was very fast and I received a lot of letters from people who were very surprised at how easy the vaccination was.”
But then he met people who did not receive the vaccine and do not intend to receive the vaccine.
“It’s obviously difficult for people if they’ve never had a vaccine, they should think about other people, rather than themselves,” she said.
“I think it’s remarkable how quickly the whole thing was done and so many people already had the vaccine.”
The queen added: “It didn’t hurt at all.”
