Queen Elizabeth “sad”, “not” angry “with Harry, interview Meghan: report

Queen Elizabeth II is “sad” and not “upset” by Prince Harry’s grandmother’s interview with Oprah Winfrey – but has privately agreed to sit with her nephew.

Harry and Meghan Markle made a number of startling allegations during their meeting with Oprah, including that an unspecified member of the royal family expressed “concern” about how dark the skin of their unborn son Archie would be.

The 94-year-old monarch ordered a private investigation of the family into the allegations, while taking personal control over the healing of the bitter division that was fully revealed, according to The Sun.

“She’s not upset, she’s just sad,” said a press agent about the queen, who is privately said not to be livid with the Sussex, whom she described as “much-loved family members.”

“They have always been worried about him (Harry), and the queen feels very protective of him,” the source told The Sun.

“They always tried to support him when Meghan came. Everyone was less worried about him when Meghan was on stage, because he seemed so happy, “the source added.

TV host and Markle’s friend Gayle King said that Harry spoke with his father, Charles and his brother, William, but that their discussions had not been “unproductive” until after the sensational CBS News interview.

Harry claimed during the interview that the relationship with his grandmother was “very good” and that the two talked often.

In a statement released by Buckingham Palace after the interview, it was said: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of the challenge for the last years for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, especially the race, are worrying. Although some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be approached by the family privately.
