QB Kyler Murray says he will play in a mandatory game for the Arizona Cardinals

TIME, Arizona – Cardinals defender Kyler Murray will play in the season finale or go home on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, he said Wednesday.

Murray suffered a leg injury late last week after losing to the San Francisco 49ers, questioning his status for Sunday’s game.

Earlier this week, coach Kliff Kingsbury was “hopeful” that Murray would play. The second-year quarterback asked any rest questions during his weekly video conference with reporters.

“Yeah, I’ll play,” Murray said.

In his first comments since the injury, Murray said he was “feeling well” and was hit in the “right place” on his right foot by quiet 49ers defensive back Alex Barrett.

If the Cardinals beat the Rams, they will make the playoffs for the first time since 2015, when they went to the NFC championship game. If they lose, the Cardinals will end their season 8-8.

This is the first game to win or go home in Murray’s short career in the NFL, leading the newcomer to say “the game is different.”

“There is no restraint,” Murray said. “We’re losing, I’ll be home, cooling off. My leg, I’m fine.”
