Puppy stolen from Warren’s family home, safely returned by police

WARREN, me. – Eight-week-old Bella, an American bulldog, was a Christmas present for Ashley Swinton and her children.

“I received it two days before Christmas and, just a few days ago, I was given food,” she said.

Swinton ordered food through Door Dash. Bella was sitting in the closed porch of Warren’s house when the driver was caught with the camera, leaving food and taking off with Bella.

“They (the family) thought the dog had just left the room,” said Detective Brian Price of the Warren Police Department.

When Bella was nowhere to be found, the family checked the surveillance cameras to see what had happened.

“You can’t trust anyone. You just can’t, “Swinton said.

Swinton called Door Dash and got nowhere. Then he went to the Warren police department, which followed the driver and Bella. The puppy is back home now.

“Finally, it was the children’s Christmas present. I’m glad the dog could be returned to them, “Price said.

Police arrested the driver who took the dog.
