A married British teacher convicted of having sex with her 15-year-old student has been sentenced to more than six years in prison.
Kandice Barber, 35, of Wendover, Buckinghamshire, was sentenced on Friday to six years and two months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court, Scottish Sun reported.
Barber, a three-year-old mother, was convicted in January of inciting or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity because she had sex with a teenager in a field, but was not found guilty of two counts. separated by the same charge.
She was arrested in March 2020, four months after the principal of Princes Risborough School saw an explicit photo of her being shared at the secondary school about 40 miles northwest of London.
Jurors during Barber’s trial heard testimony that she started texting the teenager in 2018, after taking his phone number to a school sports day event.
The couple’s messages quickly became “sexual”, and Barber sent the boy topless photos on Snapchat. He later took the 15-year-old to have sex with him in a secluded field.

“You can’t make me blush when I learn now, compared to poker,” reads a message.
A classmate of the teenager said that he also saw a message from Barber that read: “Do you prefer tits or vagrants?”
The teenage student also shared with a friend a shower selfie sent by Barber, as well as another photo of her leaning over a bed.
Meanwhile, Barber’s husband had supported his wife in court, telling jurors their marriage was as “strong” as ever.
But a former boyfriend of Barber’s said he had to end their relationship because of his unsatisfactory sexual desire, Scottish Sun reported.
“When it came to sex, she was just incredibly agitated and that made her face all these problems,” said ex-Barber. “We would have driven somewhere and she would tell us, ‘Come on, I feel excited. He just got too much for me. ”
As part of the sentence, Barber will be required to notify police of her address for the rest of her life and cannot be banned from working with vulnerable children and adults, Evening Standard reported.
“There is no doubt in my mind that you have acted in a serious breach of trust,” a judge told Barber. “You took advantage of a child in your care and cared for him for your own sexual satisfaction.”
