Priyanka Chopra released the new trailer for her upcoming film The White Tiger on Monday.

The 38-year-old actress posted the trailer for the new drama, which will be released on Netflix on January 22, on her Instagram page.

The film, which is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Rahmin Bahrani, is based on the popular 2008 novel of the same name.

The white tiger stars Adarsh ​​Gourav in his first lead role as Balram Halwai, who shares his often dark story of his rise from a poor man to a strong entrepreneur in today’s India.

He links his success to working as a servant to a master who can give him prestige and power, Ashok (Rajkummar Rao) and Pinky (Chopra), who have just returned to India from the United States.

“I want to be a driver for your son,” Balram tells Ashok’s father as he travels to his estate.

The trailer illustrates the gulf of the class that separates them, while Ashok’s father reaches out to stop his son from trying to shake Balram’s hand.

The director, Bahrani, is best known for a series of acclaimed neorealist dramas, including Chop Shop (2007) and Goodbye Solo (2009).

Priyanka has a busy year ahead of her, as she will be featured in Robert Rodriguez’s superhero film, We Can Be Heroes, which debuts on Netflix on Christmas Day.
