Princess Eugenie and her husband chose a name for their little boy

British Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank named their little boy August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, Buckingham Palace said on Saturday. The child, the ninth great-grandson for Queen Elizabeth II, was born on February 9 at Portland Hospital in London.

One of the child’s first names seems to pay homage to Eugenie’s grandfather, Prince Philip. The 99-year-old queen’s husband is currently in a London hospital where he was hospitalized on Tuesday after being ill.

Eugenie, 30, is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, the Duchess of York and the Queen’s niece. The baby, who weighed 8 kilograms, 1 ounce, is her first child and is 11th in the British throne.

Eugenie married a 35-year-old businessman, Brooksbank, in October 2018, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Eugenie posted a picture on Instagram of the couple holding their son, who is wrapped in a blue blanket with a matching lid.

“Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little man, words cannot express,” she wrote, adding that the photo was taken “by our wonderful midwife.”

“We thank the wonderful wonderful workers, including our midwife who came to unload our son,” she said.
