Due to the circumstances of the time, the British royal family announced last week that Prince Philip’s funeral will be a “small” situation, as widely described. The show is a British monarchical asset, the kind of display I haven’t seen in a while. It was reported that, for Prince Philip, “this was the funeral he wanted,” because it seems that all the details, including the music and readings, were chosen by the duke himself. There were also some elegant and subtle touches, such as the hat and gloves on the Range Rover seat and the sword at the top of the coffin. According to reports, although she is obviously sad, the queen feels “very comforted” by the fact that Prince Philip had time to clarify his funeral wishes.
Of course, the time when most people talk came after the service, as family members left the chapel, and Prince William, Prince Harry, and Kate came out together, and the rooms showed them going back to Windsor Castle, one next to each other and saying a few words to each other.

In addition to all the speculation that this means that William and Harry are on the path to healing, the tabloids lean back, trying to give credit to certain people for this to happen. Kate is praised for being the “peacemaker”, the person who reunited Will and Harry. And the Daily Mail is thirstily trying to kiss Prince Charles’ ass, declaring that this is a “stroke” from the future king, because he has decided not to get in the car and go back to the castle, thus creating the opportunity for William and Harry to connect.
And now people are trying to figure out when Harry will leave to return to the United States. Some say he’s eager to get home, while others say he could stay until the queen’s birthday on Wednesday – and if so, is it another sign that the relationship can be repaired? Looks like no one really knows what Harry’s plans are. But any true reconciliation should involve all parties, not just those with the same genealogy, you know?

Someone actually wrote that. Other people have published it. At one point it was corrected. But that’s what we’re dealing with here. Referring to Prince Philip joking about “slit eyes” and Asians and “secretly” approving him with a laugh. It is probably the same people who feel qualified to tell us what is and what is not racist. Are they still? I really am?
