Prince Harry has taken on a new job as an executive at a Silicon Valley company.
Recently, the royal franc became the chief impact officer of BetterUp Inc., an online coaching and mental health firm.
The company, valued at $ 1.73 billion, refused to disclose the prince’s compensation package – but by Tuesday had already put it on the online list as part of its “leadership team”, hailing him as a humanitarian, military veteran, mental health lawyer and environmentalist. ”
Harry first confirmed his new job in an email exchange with the Wall Street Journal.
“I intend to help create an impact on people’s lives,” Harry, 36, told the newspaper about the job.
“Proactive coaching offers endless opportunities for personal development, increased awareness and a better life at all times.”
The prince has previously revealed plans to work on mental health issues, and his wife, Meghan Markle, famously admitted to Oprah Winfrey this month that she felt suicidal while trapped in the royal family.
Harry said he personally used the BetterUp app and one of his 2,000 coaches for several months.
“I was associated with my coach, who honestly is really wonderful and has always given me solid advice and a fresh perspective, which is so valuable,” he told WSJ.
“It’s about acknowledging that it’s not so much what’s wrong with us, it’s more about what’s happened to us in our lifetime,” Harry said.
“Often due to societal barriers, financial difficulties or stigma, too many people are unable to focus on mental health until they are forced to. I want us to move away from the idea that you have to feel broken before you can ask for help, ”he said.
BetterUp CEO Alexi Robichaux declined to disclose details about Harry’s work agreement or how he would have received compensation, the WSJ said.
But “it’s a significant and meaty role,” Robichaux told the prince’s newspaper, joining the company’s management team as a “corporation officer.”
“It’s synonymous with this approach to mental capacity and it really invests in you,” Robichaux said. “It wasn’t a heavy domestic sale.”
Harry is expected to contribute to initiatives, including product strategy decisions and charitable contributions, and to publicly advocate on mental health issues.
Finally, Harry is expected to spend time at the company’s headquarters in San Francisco, attend manual meetings and be a special guest at the company’s events, Robichaux said.

Although he has no technology experience, Harry is unlikely to get any guidance, his new boss said.
