Prince Harry reunited with his cousin, Princess Eugenie, after flying home to Britain for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, confirmed Page Six.
Eugenie, 31, is the first member of the British royal family to see Harry, 36, more than a year after he, his wife, Meghan Markle and their son, Archie, they withdrew from their royal roles and moved to California.
The princess currently lives at Frogmore Cottage, the home of Harry and Meghan in the UK, with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their newborn son, August.
This is the first time Harry will meet his once-distant primary cousin, who was born in February and has the middle name Philip in a sign to his great-grandfather.
It is not yet known if Harry will also meet the newborn son of his cousin Zara Tindall, Lucas, who was born last month and also received his first name from the late Duke.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex offered Frogmore, who is on the grounds of Queen Elizabeth II’s Windsor estate, when Eugenie and Brooksbank, 31, found out they were expecting.
At the time, a source told us: “It is fully equipped for a new family and a new child. It’s still Britain’s residence of Meghan and Harry, they’ll stay there when they return, but they’re excited to be able to open Princess Eugenie and Jack’s house while starting their own family. ”
Harry and Markle renovated Frogmore worth about $ 3 million in taxpayer funds, although they announced plans to reimburse the UK for this cost.
The couple lived in the cottage for less than six months before moving to Canada and then to Montecito, California.
Harry flew to London’s Heathrow Airport on Sunday and is currently in quarantine at Frogmore, according to UK rules, before Philip’s funeral on Saturday.
Markle, who is very pregnant and expecting a baby girl in the early summer, was forced to stay home in the United States after receiving medical advice – despite her desire to join her husband, as revealed.
All eyes will be on Harry and his older brother, Prince William, on Saturday, as they are seen in public together for the first time at the Commonwealth Service in March last year, a few days before Harry and Markle, aged 39 years old, to leave the UK.
Their reunion will take place following Harry and Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in February, during which the “Suits” alum insisted that William’s wife, Kate Middleton, made her cry during a Miss’s dress. appropriate honor before her wedding in May 2018.
The couple also made accusations of racism in the royal family – and Harry said he believed his father, Prince Charles and William, 38, were “caught” in their royal roles.
On Sunday, former British Prime Minister Sir John Major told the BBC that the funeral would be the perfect time to end the family’s break-up.
Major – who was appointed a special guardian of the princes after their mother, Princess Diana, died in 1997 – told the BBC One’s “Andrew Marr Show”: “The friction we are told has arisen is a friction better completed as soon as possible. ”
He added: “They shared the emotion. They are currently sharing their grief over the death of their grandfather. I think [this] it is an ideal opportunity. I very much hope that it is possible to remedy any ruptures that may exist. ”
Philip died Friday at the age of 99.
