Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Baby Archie release their Christmas cards

Celebrity Christmas cards are an annual occasion to let the world know who you really are, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become masters at the art of telegraphing their other royal identities through their annual festive greeting cards.

In 2018, they irritated almost everyone by sending them a black and white image with their backs, taken while watching the fireworks on the evening after their wedding at the beginning of the year. The image was the only official image released inside their evening reception and seemed to seek to say something about the connection of fame and intimacy.

Eagle-eyed fans quickly pointed out the striking resemblance they had except when Meghan Markle and her first husband Trevor Engelson sent them to the wedding. Instead of standing with his back to the camera watching the fireworks on Frogmore Lake in Windsor, however, the date-saving photograph showed Meghan and Trevor sitting on a beach overlooking the sea, with his arms around them, in a strikingly similar style.

In 2019, Meghan and Harry also sent a message about their wonderful credentials when they turned black and white again, sending an image that featured Archie as they stared in admiration from behind.

For 2020, the couple chose to beautify the planet with a color image of their little family standing in front of a playground in their home garden in Montecito, along with their dogs.

But to be different, instead of using a photo like everyone else on the planet, Meghan and Harry sent a stylized drawing of a photo taken by Meghan’s mother, Doria, earlier this month. The drawing shows Archie’s shock of bright red hair.

A spokesman for the couple said: “The original photo of the family was taken at home earlier this month by the duchess’s mother.

“The little Christmas tree, including the house ornaments and other decorations, was selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays.”

Of course it will be.

The image was released through The Mayhew, an animal charity in London, whose owner Meghan, 39, is the owner and says, “I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Mayhew posted the image on Twitter, along with a thank you for an undisclosed personal donation from family members.

Meghan writes: “This year, as a family, we made donations to several charities for you. From a local California organization that helps families move from shelter to two of our UK employers: one that supports animal and community welfare and the other, a memorial fund for a dear friend who helps educate children and fight poverty in Uganda, I honored their work on behalf of all. ”
