First league Fibbed about being ready to play
Jose Mourinho called out Gareth Bale because he lied about his fitness on social media.
Bale posted on Instagram on Tuesday to declare himself ready to play, but then missed Tottenham Hotspur draw in the FA Cup against Everton Wednesday with a muscle problem.
The Welshman posted about a positive training session, despite feeling uncomfortable and having a scan the day before.
“I don’t know, posting wasn’t even his responsibility,” he suggested Mourinho.
“But the post looked ‘great training session and I’m ready’ and totally wrong.
“It was a contradiction between posting and reality.”
spurs the chief explained that although Monday’s scan did not reveal anything, Bale he was still uncomfortable and therefore did not play against Everton.
“He did a scan, the scan didn’t show any damage, but his feelings were still there and the coaches, the sports sciences and the medical people … we can never go against the feelings, because the player’s feelings are much more important than all of us, “he said Mourinho.
