PRE-SEASON – Fernando Tatis Jr. leaves the game after injuring his right shoulder

Fernando Tatis Jr.’s flow and career abruptly stopped on Tuesday, as the San Diego Padres star slowly came off the field after making a rare pitch in an exhibition game.

Padres said Tatis had discomfort in his left shoulder, which he did not throw, and that he would be reassessed on Wednesday.

Tatis went into the hole to hit a backdrop in the third inning, hit by Jonathan India of Cincinnati in Peoria, Arizona. Tatis’s movement seemed out of place, even as he came out.

Tatis, 22, started to leave the diamond and was greeted by manager Jayce Tingler and a coach. After a few minutes on the bench, Tatis headed to the club accompanied by a coach.
