PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Devil Ultimate with AMD Big Navi Reaches 3.2GHz GPU Frequency Record

PowerColor’s Radeon RX 6900 XT Red Devil Ultimate with Big Navi 21 XTXH from AMD has reached the world GPU frequency record. The GPU was pushed to an incredible 3.2 GHz by the famous overclocker, Der8auer, who pushed the card to its limit using LN2 cooling.

AMD Big Navi 21 XTXH on PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Devil Ultimate Reaches 3.2GHz GPU Frequency Record

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT with Big Navi 21 XTX GPU is the red team’s flagship offering, but during its launch, overclockers were disappointed to find that AMD set a GPU clock limit of about 2.8-3.0 GHz for its flagship chips. Only recently has AMD started shipping its high-band Navi 21 XTXH GPUs to AIB, and since then we’ve seen several new variants, such as the PowerColor RX 6900 XT Red Devil & Liquid Devil Ultimate and the ASRock RX 6900 XT OC Formula.

Xbox developers now have full access to AMD FidelityFX tools

Overclocker, Der8auer, has got his hands on a new PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Devil Ultimate graphics card, which features the aforementioned AMD Navi 21 XTXH GPU. Using the PPG tool (PowerPlay Generator & Editor) which is used only by AMD, internally, Der8auer was able to find that the new chips have a clock limit much higher than 4.0 GHz.

Operating under standard liquid cooling, the PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT reaches speeds of approximately 2.85 GHz. Switching to LN2 cooling, the GPU has reached an impressive clock speed of 3.2 GHz (3225 MHz), which places it as the fastest frequency ever reached by any GPU to date. The clock speed is about 200 MHz faster than the previous world record set by Kingpin on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 1080 Ti Pascal GPU.

This is really impressive for PowerColor, which shows the true power of AMD’s Big Navi GPU in terms of a higher frequency tuned architecture compared to older Navi chips. This overclock is also a much more impressive showcase from Der8auer himself. To make things fun, the overclocker says that the card could only have the potential to reach 3.5 GHz with high voltages, which is simply crazy.
