“Ponce Ciudad Ideal” is the new brand of the municipality

The mayor’s administration Luis Irizarry Pabón presented on Friday evening the new brand of municipalities: “Ponce Ciudad Ideal”.

This initiative, which gives Ponce the name of “Ideal City”, is committed to showcasing its major tourist, gastronomic, architectural and historical attractions and its main asset, its people, in order to group all these elements under the same uniform symbol. , which is easily recognized in all areas by the world as a synonym for La Perla del Sur.

“My administration is dedicated to a transformative change for a new city, full of opportunities, open and functional spaces for everyone to enjoy. I knew that this ideal city was possible and that it could rise from the hands of all Ponceños and Puerto Ricans. Two months ago, I took the helm, lifted the sails, repositioned the compass, changed course, and sailed to a safe harbor. We are already waking up from the exhausting moraca, from an induced coma that stopped us as a city “, the first municipal executive declared in written statements to the press.

“Today, without looking back, with red and black as standard bearers, we are heading for a thoughtful city, an ideal city. That is: “Ponce Ciudad Ideal”, an avant-garde, unique and complete city. A city with first-class industries, schools, hospitals, an airport and a seaport. However, none of this would be possible without his hardworking people dedicated to the Ponce cause. This is the brand of our city. Ponce will grow up in the world, embracing her and making her fall in love with her charms and from here she will grow up all over southern Puerto Rico “, added Irizarry Pabón.

In the evening, the directors of Cultural Development, Tourism Promotion and Economic Development, Ernie Rivera Collazo, Iván „Yuye” Rodríguez Yes Jean Paul Gonzálezrespectively, they presented the new concept of the city brand in terms of its coverage and impact.

“A city is not only measured by longitude and latitude, but is measured by the hearts of its people, aware that the development of a brand is the basis on which large cities are built. We have set ourselves the task of investigating and designing the combination of key and distinctive elements that will facilitate the recognition and positioning of Ponce, in the minds of our people and his future visitors “, explained the municipal minister of tourism.

“The brand is the combination of the city’s distinctive colors, red and black, Sol Trunco, delicate, fan-shaped semicircular pillars that adorn the space above the doors in our distinguished colonial architecture and highlight in Pump Park. Finally, the column, an element extracted from the architectural design of our historic theater La Perla. This architectural element of support is presented in the new icon of our city, manifesting the spirit of Ponce’s unbreakable pride “, he added.

In turn, the director for economic development explained that, through a massive advertising campaign, they will mark an important stage and that they will have an economic impact.

“This general plan will be integrated in the public economic development policy efforts that we have started to implement for the city. Our economy was expecting such a situation, it needed a new business model, more aggressive and more dynamic, that would take into account our businessmen, traders and entrepreneurs, in order to flourish together. The stagnation of the years has had to be eradicated and this initiative will position us at the forefront to overcome all the situations we have had to face as a city and country. Undoubtedly, this new image introduces us to the 21st century, causing us to capitalize on adversity, creating unprecedented new business and marketing opportunities, ”he said.

In the same way, the director of Cultural Development explained each stamp, character or historical moment that was placed through a photographic representation on the posters that adorn the fence in Plaza de La Esperanza.

“Without relying on our iconic figures, telling us the story and including the iconic places where everything happened or is happening, the treasures we offer from Ponce to the whole world would not exist and we proudly promote through our brand. Ponce is an ideal city, because the first ancestral peoples settled on its lands, more than three thousand years before Christ. They were the ones who discovered this little point on the map, where nature sowed its beauty and creativity, dreams and pride of being here appeared, feelings that had free rein and left us inherited from Ponce de today, “Rivera said.

The new brand of the city and its logo will be shared with all merchants, so that they can adopt it in their promotions.
