Police search for suspect who shot dead man at tire shop in southern Houston

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is looking for the person who shot a man on Sunday in front of a tire store in southern Houston. Officials said the victim, a 20-year-old Hispanic man, was a customer of the Pineda Tire Shop.

Police said several friends and family mourn the loss of a loved one.

“It simply came to our notice then. I can understand, “said HPD Detective Eric Martinez.

Police responded to a shooting at a tire store on Highway 4400 South Loop East.

“I found a man who was not answering on the ground next to a vehicle. There were several witnesses at the scene, and the witness remembers that the man shot another man after a verbal argument. The man fled the scene, “Martinez said.

During the investigation, the police stated that they found 10 carcasses on the ground, but it is not clear how many times the victim was shot.

“It is very tragic that it will never happen. It’s a sad day, “Martinez said.

Police said the victim was a customer of the tire shop and that a manager was there when the shooting occurred, but saw nothing.

“There is surveillance of the property, unfortunately it is currently defective,” Martinez said.

Investigators spent hours collecting evidence and processing the scene.

“We have good witnesses who can identify the suspect and we are working on these opportunities right now,” Martinez said.

Police are still trying to figure out the relationship between the victim and the suspect.

The victim’s name was not disclosed.
