A Central Florida teacher woke up behind bars after police said she was fighting a group of students outside a fast-food restaurant following a high school basketball game.

NBC affiliate WFLA-TV reports that the incident took place on Friday in Bartow, where a group of students were involved in an altercation at the game. Later, the group went to a McDonald’s area to eat.

At the restaurant, Liquindella Clark – a teacher in Polk County and the mother of another teenager who was allegedly involved in the first altercation at school – approached the group and began arguing with them, according to Bartow Police Department.

Clark was taken out of the restaurant, but waited in the parking lot and allegedly began physically fighting the group. Police say Clark hit a student in the face, took off his wig and hit a second student in the head.

Witnesses called police, who arrived and arrested Clark. She faces allegations of child abuse in this case. Officials have not said whether she will be suspended as a teacher pending an investigation.
