The bodies of six people were found in a house in Allen early Monday morning, the result of an apparent mass-suicide, Allen police said.
Sgt. Jon Felty of Allen Police said on Monday afternoon that the police were asked to conduct a welfare check on behalf of a friend of a suicidal young man who lived in the house.
Felty said officers arrived at the house after 1am at block 1500 of Pine Bluff Drive and soon found the bodies of six people in the house. Those people were identified by police on Monday afternoon as the 54-year-old father Towhidul Islam; 56-year-old mother Iren Islam; 77-year-old grandmother Altafun Nessa; 21-year-old Tanvir Towhid; and 19-year-old twins Farbin Towhid and her brother Farhan Towhid.
Felty said the two brothers apparently entered into a suicide pact to end their lives and take their family with them based on a link to a long letter on one of the boys’ social media pages detailing what what happened and how the boys came to their decision.
In the letter, the boys said they were both clinically depressed and hoped to spare their families grief over their suicides by taking their lives first by shooting them before committing suicide.
“I’ve been here in Allen for 21 years. We’ve never seen an incident like this in the 21 years I’ve been here. So, as you can imagine, it’s just a tragedy. describe, “Felty said.” It’s a tragedy you just can’t imagine. Our sincere condolences go out to family members and friends and we are just very sorry that this event happened. ”
It has not been confirmed when the deaths occurred, but police believe they occurred on Saturday night based on evidence found in the house. Felty said the investigation of the dead is underway. He added that none of the neighbors reported hearing and there were no reports of gunfire in the area.

Felty said the family emigrated from Bangladesh and has no known relatives in North Texas. He said police found some relatives in Florida.
Bewildered neighbors and family friends gathered all day long as investigators walked in and out of the house wearing protective gear.
“The family is a very nice and happy family. They always made fun of everything. We don’t understand this, “said friend Deelra Hassan.” We are very shocked. Very shocked. ”
The only known contact the family had with the police was a phone call in 2018 reporting someone had rung the bell and disappeared and wanted it investigated.
Family friends insist that this act does not reflect their Muslim, Bengali culture or the boys they knew.
“They were always happy and talked,” said friend Mizan Raham. “I don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but this is really awful for the whole community.”
Police declined to confirm more details in the letter, including the number of weapons used in the shooting. However, police confirmed late Monday afternoon that the 22-year-old brother was recently able to legally purchase a weapon.
The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the names of each victim and cause of death.
