Nintendo and Game Freak have made some controversial changes Pokemon Sword and Pokemon shield. The Nintendo Switch game pair hasn’t changed much since its launch, unless you count the pair of expansions that have added and enhanced the experience of both. Beyond that, Nintendo and Game Freak have done very little with the game pair. However, recently, the duo announced the regulation ranked in the 9th series of combat, which, in turn, revealed a number of changes, some of which prove to be quite controversial.
With season 8, coaches are allowed to use a restricted Pokemon Legend. At the time, this was a change from the set of rules in season 7. That being said, for season 9, this change is reversed. In other words, this aspect of the rulebook goes back to season 7. And, of course, that means the current meta is changing and changing in a big way, again.
For some players, this is great news. Legendaries are legendary for one reason: they are very strong and some limit on OP. Of course, this means that the players will exploit the legendary, especially Zacian, which meant, in turn, those who do not run with Zacian and the others in their team felt pressured to change their game to correct this. . In other words, it has created a bit of a restrictive meta and it is this meta that many players find enjoyable.
However, others say that Nintendo and Game Freak must no longer constantly shake the meta. All competitive online games make meta changes, but usually these changes are gradual. Players against change quickly notice that regular changes make the game difficult to maintain and hinder the evolution of strategies over time.
Of course, both arguments have merit, but for now it seems that Nintendo agrees with those in the former camp. That being said, for now, it remains to be seen what the goal will be in season 9, although it will probably be similar to the goal in season 7.
