Pokemon is launching a huge popularity poll ahead of its 25th anniversary

Pokemon Day is just around the corner, and fans have high hopes for the anniversary. The franchise turns 25 in 2021, so you can see why fans are hoping for a huge holiday. It seems that some anniversary events started just before the big day itself, and such a celebration comes due to a popularity poll.

And yes, you can get into it no matter where you are. As long as you have access to Twitter and a search engine, don’t worry! You will be able to join on Pokemon fun!

As it turns out, Pokemon Company has launched an online popularity survey in Japan. The brand has started a Twitter campaign that follows a specific hashtag in Japanese and all fans have to do is use the word “に き め た” at the end of a certain message. You have to take that word to the end of the Pokemon you want to vote for as a favorite, but you have to do that using the monster’s Japanese name.

So, for example, you could vote for Pikachu using these rules. You need to look up the monster’s name in Japanese (ピ カ チ ュ ウ) and then tweet that word with a hashtag and the special Japanese word I mentioned earlier: # ピ カ チ ュ ウ に き め た

You can do this for any Pokemon out there, as long as you follow the rules. You can send as many tweets as you want to push Pokemon agenda, and the company keeps a live balance of the results. If you head to this site and scroll down, you’ll find an invigorating list of the first thirty monsters in the survey. At the time of writing, Dedenne is in first place, but the mouse has some fierce provocateurs coming from behind. Cinccino is in second place, and Snivy and Buzzwole in third and fourth place.

Which Pokemon should be at the top of this list? Are you surprised by any of the current results …? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or access me on Twitter @MeganPetersCB.
