PLD will organize the Ordinary Congress in virtual mode due to the incidence of COVID-19

The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) announced on Thursday that the first phase of the General Plenary led by the Ninth Organizing Commission Ordinary Congress “José Joaquín Bidó Medina” will practically celebrate due to the incidence of Coronavirus in the country.

This plenary will be developed by platform The board will be led by a specialized team that will provide technical support to the transmission.

This first stage will be presented seven virtual cameras and a document management platform with facilities for deliberation and conclusion with the approval of the proposals “the 13 thematic areas, as well as the national and international policy line”.

The measure was taken due to the provisions of Presidential Decree 698-20, which states that “meetings of groups of more than 10 people in public places and private places for public use are prohibited in the national territory” to prevent the spread of the new Coronavirus

This was reported by the communication director of this political entity, Hector Olivo through a press conference held at PLD.

This plenary session was scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, where it was expected to receive at least 2,300 official delegates and another 300 from abroad. These will be presented through the digital platform.

The second phase is expected to continue in January.
