Playboi Cards Drops Whole Lotta Red Album: Listen

This is not an exercise. Playboi Carti has finally given up its long-awaited second album, Whole Lotta Red.

On Friday (December 25th), Playboi Carti released his new LP, which reaches two years after releasing his debut album in 2018, Die Lit. The 24-track project includes songs titled “Stop Breathing”, “Slay3r” and “Vamp Anthem” and the previously released single “@ Meh”. Guest appearances include Future, Kid Cudi and Kanye West.

Whole Lotta Red has been a coveted hip-hop project for almost two years. The rapper started teasing the album in 2018, and a year later, the release date became a waiting game since the announcement of the LP’s existence. In July 2019, Playboi Carti announced that it would release the album within two months of making the statement public during a performance in Milwaukee, Wis.

“I’m trying to give up shit for the next 60 days,” Carti said at the time. WLR. He went on to say, “I’m not going to lie. Looks like I’ve been working too hard for now. So I’m going to do this shit without features.” Then nothing.

In 2020, fans were looking forward to its release. Carti suggested that the new music will appear on April 14 this year, when he uploaded new works of art on his Instagram page. However, the post did not include any accompanying details. On April 16, Carti released his new single, “@ Meh”, after announcing the recording on social media. “@ meh! get out now!”, wrote on Twitter Books about the song produced by Neeko Baby, Deskhop and Jetsonmade.

In September, Iggy Azalea, the mother of Carti’s son, Onyx, refused to give fans an official release date for WLR but I promised the album would be something to look forward to.

“I will never tell you when Whole Lotta Red decreases, boys. Nice try, “Iggy explained Whole Lotta Red it’s amazing and it’s on the next level and it’s much better than any other person I’ve heard doing, really. “

Two years of teasing this album started rubbing rap fans wrong. Whenever Carti posts on social networks, I think his supporters WLR is on its way, but then nothing drops and reveals its frustrations on Twitter and in the comments section of numerous Instagram accounts.

On December 6, the elderly rapper from Atlanta, Mario Judah, decided to discuss his fans and asked Carti to give up the album. In a video posted on Twitter, Judah threatened to leak songs from Whole Lotta Red one by one if Carti failed to deliver the album. Judah’s ultimatum came after Carti appeared on social media and hinted that the album would eventually follow.

“Don’t fuck your books … you have until 18:00 ⚠️⚠️ @ playboicarti”, Judah posted on Twitter.

A few hours later that day, Judah released “Bih Yah,” a song he wrote, recorded, produced, mixed, and conceived himself, which sounds striking as the tone and delivery of Books.

Unfortunately, Judah’s threats fell on deaf ears, because once again fans were encouraged to believe that Carti would stop playing with their emotions and give up his long-awaited album.

On the afternoon of December 10, the Atlanta rapper posted a picture of himself on Instagram with the caption, “i kAnT BELIEVE mY ALBUm iS About 2 dRoP. WTF ps. I goT A TANK @ THe cAsTLE n0w thx. YE “.

Later, Judas celebrated on social networks following the announcement of the Book. “So after the warning … after the warning … the card game will eventually give up the WLR, I did it guys,” he wrote on Twitter. However, the date came and went again without an album.

Finally, on Tuesday (December 22nd), Carti officially announced the release date of LP as Christmas Day and revealed the cover. He also released a controversial merch line corresponding to the album’s release.

No other formalities, Whole Lotta Red is finally here.
