Platinum seems to have explained why it is so quiet about Bayonetta 3

Bayonet 2

In the same interview with VGC last week, PlatinumGames co-founders Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya used the company’s future self-published title Project GG to seemingly touch on why he was so quiet about certain other releases.

With these other games – like Bayonet 3, for example – it all comes down to the editor’s approach. In the case of Bayonetta 3, the publisher is Nintendo. However, when it comes to something like Project GG, Kamiya explains how Platinum can essentially share whatever it wants, whenever it wants (no problem):

“It simply came to our notice then [Project G.G.], there are no publishers to get mad at me this time, so I will share things online, post photos whenever I like … “

When it comes to other titles (again, let’s use Bayonetta 3), it’s simply not the decision to take Platinum. In saying this, Inaba notes how the company follows any approach other publishers want to adopt:

“We don’t have too many words to say about the projects we don’t publish. And we understand that different titles require different approaches, so we respect the publisher’s decisions. ”

“So, if there’s a difference between what we want to do with Project GG compared to what we normally do with our other titles, it’s not really a criticism of those editors: we respect their approaches. But, especially for this title, our approach as a company is that we hope to be more open. “

So when it comes to Project GG, you can expect to see and hear more than you could normally get from Platinum when working on a game published by another company.

Could this be why Platinum has been so tight on the Bayonetta 3? Is that why Kamiya keeps telling fans that she’s doing “very well” all the time? To be fair, in the same interview, he even said that a potential update in 2021 about the game was not really Platinum’s “saying position”.

What do you think about the answers above? Do you think Nintendo told Platinum not to say anything about the Bayonetta 3 and can’t even tell us that? You know, so Nintendo can finally make some kind of surprise announcement and break the internet … Share your own thoughts below.
