Plastic surgeon dies of COVID-19 after patient coughs on him: report

A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who appeared on “The Doctors” died of COVID-19 after contracting the disease, when a woman without a mask coughed on him while giving him a lip injection, according to a report.

Dr. Payman Simoni, 50, wore a mask last month while performing the elective procedure on the woman, who had completed a COVID questionnaire and had her temperature checked – although she was not tested for the virus, TMZ reported.

She contacted the doctor’s office a few days later to report that she later tested positive for the fatal error, according to media reports.

Simoni, who went into quarantine, was later hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was placed on a ventilator after experiencing a variety of symptoms, including difficulty breathing, according to TMZ.

Sources told the media that Simoni was finally placed in a medically induced coma before dying of a cerebral hemorrhage on Friday.

“The shock was that he was so perfectly healthy,” Katy Amiri-Younesi’s family friend told KCAL. “He is a doctor, I called him when I had COVID. He instructed me what to do. “

He added: “He was a doctor. And he took all the protocols. ”

Simoni recently appeared in a future episode of “Gown and Out in Beverly Hills,” during which he performed the same procedure on Patrik Simpson, TMZ reported.

The patient told the press that he was instructed to take a COVID test and tested negative in advance.
