The Jets may face an enigma in a potential pursuit of Deshaun Watson.
While at least one report has pointed to the Jets as Watson’s favorite destination in a deal, the disgruntled Texan stellar defender knows that throwing pawns he might give up to land him could be a double-edged sword.

While the Texans have insisted they do not intend to change Watson, despite his request, The Houston Chronicle reported earlier that their asking price would be at least two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and two young defensive starters.
Jets have two selections from the first round in each of the following two projects – including elections no. 2 and no. April 23 – but the package that might be needed to change for Watson could certainly be costly for a team coming out of Season 2-14 that isn’t talented and has a lot of holes to fill.
Watson has a ban clause that could give him some say where he goes when and if the Texans continue negotiations.
Meanwhile, Watson and his circle are waiting for another transaction, as the NFL quarterback’s carousel continues to spin – with Carson Wentz’s trade with the Eagles at the Colts on Thursday, the latest deal to be released.
“What are the criteria for a defender who asks to be traded and then traded?” Quincy Avery, Watson’s personal trainer, posted shortly after Wentz received the fulfillment of his commercial wish “Ask for a friend.”
