Pierluisi says that in the first meeting with the board he discussed issues such as pensions, municipalities and UPR

Governor Pedro Pierluisi spoke on Friday about what was discussed at the Fiscal Control Board (JCF) meeting, where he claimed to have presented his decision to participate as an active member in the other upcoming meetings.

“It was a very productive discussion in which I was able to build an effective and candid working relationship and reiterate the government’s priorities,” said Pierluisi.

As he said, the proposals he submitted to members of the JCF were the rejection of the cut in pensions, “as well as the need for our municipalities and the UPR to have the resources they need.”

The governor also reportedly stated that it is important to invest in public services “to have a functioning government”.

“As governor, I will continue to participate in the meetings and public hearings held by the council,” he concludes.
