On Monday, Governor Pedro Pierluisi appointed Francisco J. Rodríguez Dosal as the new executive director of the Highways and Transportation Authority (ACT).
A press release from La Fortaleza stated that Rodríguez Dosal has 24 years of experience in public services and the construction industry.
This is the president’s second appointment to the ACT leadership, as after Pierluisi announced that former director Rossana Aguilar would continue in office under his administration, the official resigned in December.
Meanwhile, the governor also appointed Carlos Mercado Santiago as the new head of the Tourism Company, who served as the entity’s deputy director during the administration of former governor Wanda Vázquez Garced. Previously, Mercado Santiago was a director of the Puerto Rico Trade and Export Company.
Pierluisi also appointed Mariela Vallines Fernández as Executive Director of the Convention Center District Authority and Natalia I. Zequeira Díaz as Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions.
Similarly, Pierluisi appointed Orlando Rivera Carrión as director of the gaming division and Rafael Freytes Cutreras as director of the Office of Special Investigations (NIE). Meanwhile, Nilda Marchan has been appointed executive director of the Roosevelt Road Redevelopment Authority.
The chief executive also confirmed the appointment of former Senator of the New Progressive Party (PNP) and former mayor of Salinas, Carlos Rodríguez Mateo, as director of the Administration for Mental Health and Anti-Addiction Services (Assmca). Last week, the appointed health secretary, Carlos Mellado, reported the appointment of the former legislator.
