Pieces of “glass and plastic” found in the mentioned Hot Pockets

Hot pockets are in hot water.

More than 762,000 pounds of hot pockets were recovered this month due to “possible contamination with foreign matter”. Specifically, frozen snacks contained potentially unwanted surprise ingredients made of glass and hard plastic.

Nestlé Prepared Foods recalled more than half a million pounds of pockets, after determining that they could have been contaminated with “foreign materials, especially pieces of glass and hard plastic,” the Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Friday of the US Department of Agriculture

The recalled products, which all expire in February 2022, contain 12 “premium pepperoni made with pork, chicken and beef garlic garlic crust” Hot Pockets, are in 54-ounce cartons and include lot codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614 and 0321544614.

Nestlé’s Hot Pocket withdrawal follows the company’s recall in December of approximately 92,206 kilograms of Lean Cuisine, especially baked chicken flavor, also due to possible hard plastic contamination.

Earlier this month, the US Food and Drug Administration announced this month a withdrawal of 11,371 Weis Markets ice cream containers because they are “contaminated with foreign materials, especially parts of metal filling equipment.” This memory was also followed by an ice cream that made an unwanted discovery in their food.

There was a report about a customer who discovered an intact piece of metal equipment in Weis Quality Cookies and Ice Cream cookies, ”the FDA wrote. “There is concern about additional equipment present in the ice cream product (s) that could be a choking hazard.”
