Not everything is black and white for this penguin.
An “unseen” yellow penguin was caught on camera by a Belgian photographer with wild animals, making nature lovers squeak with joy.
Yves Adams was taking pictures of a colony of 120,000 king penguins in South Georgia, a South Atlantic island, in December 2019, when he saw the rare bird, he told Kennedy News.
“It was the sky that landed next to us,” Adams said. “If it was 50 meters away, we wouldn’t have been able to get this show of a lifetime.”
Adams’ series of captivating photographs shows the canary-yellow creature tapping its belly in the water and seeing itself next to its conventional-looking counterparts.
Close-ups show the penguin – whose coloration is due to the condition of leukism pigmentation – with completely yellow plumage and even yellow eyes.
Adams shared images with Instagram animals this week, causing them to get lost.
“It’s absolutely amazing,” said one observer.
“Thank you for sharing this with the world! I shared it with my animal-loving child and her friends “, added another.
Normal penguins often use reflections of yellow feathers to attract colleagues – but it is unclear whether the appearance of the ultra-rare bird makes him a golden boy with gals.
“We were so lucky that the bird landed right where I was,” Adams said. ” [It was] unseen. ”
