Phoebe Dynevor of Bridgerton reveals intimacy coordinator helped plan sex scenes

Phoebe Dynevor revealed that an intimacy coordinator helped her plan the “great” sex scenes in Bridgerton.

The 25-year-old actress, who plays the lead role of Daphne, explained how the “first scene” she filmed for the Netflix show was with co-star Regé-Jean Page.

Although it was released only on Christmas Day, the drama of the poor period was already a success for viewers for its impressive scenery and bold content.

Talking to Grazia about her sex scenes, Phoebe said, “My first scene was in episode six, where Simon goes down to Daphne.

“And it was so great, because it felt safe and fun: you choreographed it as a stunt or a dance. It’s crazy for me [an intimacy coordinator] he hasn’t been there in the past.

“I’ve done sex scenes before that I can’t believe I did: it was only five or six years ago, but now it wouldn’t be allowed.”

Phoebe added, “I love her [Daphne’s] the story of the majority and her sexual awakening. I like to see their feminine gaze and see her realize for herself. It’s a late blossom, but it’s not like it could do it on Google.

Daphne, the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family, is presented as “perfectly beautiful” and is called “impeccable” when she meets Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuvel.

The show debuts on Regency London’s competitive market – where Regé-Jean’s character, Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, is the catch of the season.

Despite the proclamation that they want nothing to offer the other, the attraction between Simon and Daphne is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in a battle of intelligence as they navigate society’s expectations for their future.

Phoebe recognizes an excellent make-up artist and good lighting to shoot her through a seven-month shoot, often with six-day weeks and night photos.

She said: “There is a scene in an episode where Daphne goes downstairs and everyone is watching her.

“It was one of the most difficult scenes to film. Everyone has days when he wakes up and feels like cocoa and doesn’t want to see people, let alone be in the room.

“It just so happened that I had one of those days back then and I felt so far away from my comfort zone. Basically, I had a complete panic attack.

Phoebe has been acting for more than a decade with roles in Waterloo Road and opposite the TV adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s Snatch – “it was a boys’ club,” she says.

He also appeared in Darren Star’s creation, Younger. However, Bridgerton is her biggest role to date.

Talking about the prospect of being now identifiable to millions of Netflix viewers, Phoebe said she was ready, but not necessarily excited.

“There is a potential threat to fame,” she says after examination. “I do not like her idea. But I’m so proud of what Bridgerton is. I couldn’t think of anything else that I would like people to know about me.

Fortunately, she has a solid role model for her mother, actor Sally Dynevor. After playing Sally Metcalfe on Coronation Street since 1986, she has been sent to millions of people’s homes three nights a week for nearly 35 years.

When asked if she understood her mother’s fame, Phoebe said, “She was just my mother. She always took it in stride and was very cool, grateful and humble. Gratitude is the most important thing.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror before the release of Bridgerton, Sally shared her enthusiasm to see her daughter on the streaming giant’s website.

She said: “I just want to say that I am very proud of Phoebe and, as a family, we are so excited to see Bridgerton on Christmas Day.”
