It is worth mentioning that this is the second time that Alfredo stops working at Zarzuela, before he was already part of the team, from 2007 to 2012, as the second head of the protocol of His Majesty the King’s House. His first outing was to work at the Egyptian embassy, but he returned to the royal family in 2014, when Philip VI was proclaimed king and chose his team. He then handed over the head of protocol, replacing Cándido Creis.

Who is Alfredo Martínez Serrano?
According to the website of the Royal House, Alfredo has a law degree from the Universities of Oviedo and Pisa. He has a master’s degree in European Union law from the Free University of Brussels and has participated in a public management program for IESE management.
As part of his diplomatic career, he served as chief of staff in the cabinet of the foreign minister and second in charge of Spanish embassies in Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, El Salvador and Egypt.
