Peter Yarrow was accused of raping a minor girl in New York in 1969

Folk singer Peter Yarrow was charged in a new trial of raping a minor girl in a hotel room in Manhattan in 1969.

The charges were filed against Yarrow, a founding member of the legendary 1960s trio, Peter, Paul and Mary, in a Wednesday trial in Manhattan’s Supreme Court, which was introduced under the Child Victims Act.

Before the alleged rape, Yarrow met his accuser, who was a fan of his music, several times at his band’s shows, the costume says.

He then “took an interest in her,” acting in what the minor thought was “paternal,” according to the lawsuit.

But the lawsuit claims that in reality the popular icon “took care” of her.

Eventually, she ran away from her home in Minnesota and met Yarrow at a hotel on the Lower East Side, where he allegedly raped her, the lawsuit said.

The next day, Yarrow bought the minor a plane ticket to Minnesota and told him to leave, he said.

The plaintiff “has suffered the effects of Yarrow’s rape since then,” according to the trial.

She seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Yarrow has a past criminal conviction for “taking indecent liberties” with a 14-year-old girl in a hotel room in Washington, DC, in 1970.

The messages requesting comments from Yarrow and his accuser’s lawyers were not returned immediately.
