Personalities fire Robin Bernstein as RD Ambassador

The US Embassy organized a virtual event to bid farewell to its ambassador Robin Bernstein, who will complete her two and a half year diplomatic mission in the country on January 20, 2021.

During the I event, the various projects that the Ambassador has promoted together with the Dominican state and the private sector were remembered, especially in favor of the social sector.

“What I will miss the most, I think, are the people, my family from the embassy, ​​my extended family in the Dominican Republic, I have to say that the wonderful people of this country, I am going to miss them a lot,” he said.

During the event, testimonials were given from various personalities from the country expressing their admiration and the diplomat’s management in the country.

Some of these programs include: Vitamins for Angels, designed to promote policies and practices for the use of multiple micronutrient supplements (MNM) in pregnant women; the SIDE program, driven by four security pillars; investment and trade; disaster preparedness and education, among others.

Special guests at the event included Secretary of State Roberto Álvarez; the Director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), retired Major General Juan Manuel Méndez; the President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmchamDR) Ramón Ortega; the former Director-General of the National Police, retired Major General Ney Aldrin Bautista and the Mayor of Santiago de los Caballeros, Abel Martínez; Andrea Camacho, Director of the Gender Violence Unit of the Attorney General’s Office.

In the field of baseball, the three Dominican members of the Cooperstown Hall of Fame, Pedro Martínez, Vladimir Guerrero and Juan Marichal.

On several occasions the ambassador was visibly moved and declared that he shared the values ​​of family and faith with the Dominicans.

He recalled that through the embassy, ​​projects have been promoted in the areas of education, citizen security, trade and preparedness for natural disasters. In addition, she said she was satisfied with her performance and left a tangible legacy in the country.

Ambassador Bernstein answered questions from the audience who went live on social media and interacted with her contacts and friends in an open and spontaneous manner.

Robin Bernstein was sworn in as United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic on July 3, 2018. Prior to her diplomatic appointment, she was president and director of Richard S. Bernstein y Asociados, Inc. and vice president and president of Rizbur, Inc., both in West Palm Beach, Florida, until her resignation, upon confirmation by the United States Senate.

During her mission as an ambassador, Robin Bernstein was accompanied by her husband, Richard Bernstein, and one of their daughters, Julia Bernstein.
